It all began with two Uni mates turning their lounge room into a home-brewery. Inspired by some of the more interesting imported beers, they decided to source some fine brewing ingredients from further a field. This hunt for the best hops and malts became borderline obsessive, and fueled their dreams of making 'the best Aussie craft beers'. In the early days, they pulled in 40 or so of their best mates for back yard beer parties. A couple of years later, with as many as 300 people spilling out into the street, they had up to 20 kegs and (by all reports) 5 impressive styles of beer to try, many of which were early versions of the beers available today. This was, without doubt, getting serious.

15 years and various career paths later, Scott and Rich were still plotting their great beer coup. As soon as the numbers stacked in their favour, they took what many thought was a huge, brave, leap of faith. They both threw in their successful day-jobs and started telling their mates 'We are going to be Beer Barons...!'

When Barons was launched in Australia in 2005, it was with the single goal - 'to share our love of great beer and the spirit of our Australian way of life with the whole world'. A couple of years later, the boys from Barons Brewing are doing just that - distributing Barons to the U.S. and worldwide*.
